Ekwendeni Appeal - 2009

A HUGE THANK YOU TO NEW ABERDOUR PARISH CHURCH

With fantastic support from the local community, New Aberdour Parish Church has successfully collected goods for our Mission Partners in Malawi.

Forty boxes of soap, notebooks, pencils, toys, clothes and books have been donated during our Harvest and Christmas Appeal. This will be distributed to the Hospital, Orphanage and School in Ekwendeni.

£150 was collected during our Easter Service to enable the Raven Trust to transport the goods.

After a very interesting visit to the school by Dr. Andy Gaston, Hospital Director and Zebedee Chiumia, School Teacher, pupils at New Aberdour primary school decided to donate educational books and sweatshirts and they have written notes to the children in the school at Ekwendeni and hope they will have pen pals in a few months time.

Billy Grant, Buchan Janitorial Services and his driver Frankie have generously given their services to transport the goods to the Blytheswood lorry for onward shipment to Raven Trust and there it will go on a huge container to Malawi in the next few weeks.

Here are some pictures of the boxes being loaded.
